Signal Lost - UE5 Level Design Project

Signal Lost is a personal level design project created in Unreal Engine 5.

The goal of the project was to design a combat-focused adventure level built around a remote jungle listening station dominated by a large radio telescope serving as the primary visual landmark.

Throughout the level, I focused on creating readable gameplay spaces, clear player navigation, multiple combat encounters, vertical traversal opportunities, and environmental storytelling through the layout and structure of the environment.

Key design goals included:

Creating memorable landmarks to guide player navigation
Designing combat spaces with multiple approach options
Supporting player progression through visual composition and sightlines
Establishing a strong sense of place and exploration
Balancing open combat areas with tighter traversal sections

This project was built in Unreal Engine 5 using the AGLS framework, which provided gameplay systems such as traversal, climbing, rope swinging, combat, stealth mechanics and character movement.
